There are a range of glazing options that we have tested as follows. This is our synopsis. This image shows the differences.
Unglazed – Standard perspex – Non-reflective acrylic – Tru Vue Non Reflective Glass
Listed in order of cost.
No Glazing
This is not possible with original pastel artwork which must be protected. It is possible with prints, however there is a risk of damage. This is a great way to view the art.
Standard perspex
Comes with frame at no extra cost. The problem is that depending on position and light sources, can see reflections.
Float Glass
Nice finish but has the same reflections. We don’t use float glass but available on request.
Non-Reflective Acrylic
We use this for viewing most artwork. Viewing is significantly improved. No sharp reflections. Reflections are dispersed by the rough surface showing as a soft glow. Artwork has slight loss of sharpness. For some artwork this is not a disadvantage.
For detailed, very bright artwork or viewing locations with reflected light sources Tru Vue is best
Tru Vue Non-Reflective Glass
Very impressive but expensive. Reflections are almost completely removed (but there are some) Image is clear and sharp.
